The Renovation Details
The Moye residence in Lee County’s Palmyra subdivision recently underwent a transformation by Pool Brothers Cabinets + Flooring + Lighting, who revamped the kitchen and hall bathroom while also installing new light wood flooring throughout the entire home. We're calling this one Rhythm & Blues. "Rhythm" because the pattern is carried around the room, from the tile backsplash to the wine rack. "Blues" because of that amazing pop of blue color on the cabinetry.

A Functional Kitchen Designed for Hosting & Aging in Place
An avid entertainer, Ms. Moye opted to keep her open kitchen layout, which minimized the need for extensive reconfiguration of the kitchen. Our skilled kitchen designers collaborated closely with her to elevate the overall aesthetic and enhance functionality to align with her lifestyle. Introducing a touch of contemporary elegance, we designed and installed custom kitchen cabinets featuring a door front reminiscent of the timeless shaker style but infused with a modern flair. The cabinets were finished in a blend of soothing blue and light gray and complemented by large, brushed nickel square drawer cabinet pulls and knobs. The kitchen backsplash was adorned with white subway tiles arranged in a chic chevron pattern.
Considering Ms. Moye's love for cooking, we helped her optimize the kitchen's functionality with a strategic mix of cabinet drawers, doored cabinets, and cabinet organizers, facilitating easy access to pots and pans. As an avid coffee enthusiast, Ms. Moye desired a dedicated yet discreet space for her coffee pot and accessories, so we integrated appliance garages into the cabinet design, allowing her to store small appliances, including the coveted coffee pot, within arm's reach yet neatly concealed behind elegant cabinet doors.
A new wooded workstation sink, equipped with accessories such as a cutting board, serving bowls, and a colander, adds an unparalleled level of convenience to the kitchen, streamlining the food preparation and serving process so Ms. Moye can host her family and friends with style and efficiency.
An Updated Hall Bathroom for Guests
We removed a dated bathtub insert and introduced a spacious walk-in shower with large-format marble-look tiles to create a luxurious and contemporary atmosphere for guests. The bathroom floor complements this aesthetic with matching tiles, bringing a cohesive look to the space. Enhancing both functionality and style, we replaced a paned window with a modern transom window in the new shower, allowing for an abundance of natural light while maintaining privacy. To further align with the updated ambiance of Ms. Moye's home, we replaced the bathroom vanity with a striking blue cabinet and a crisp white countertop. This not only adds a pop of color but also seamlessly integrates with the home’s updated look.
A Spacious, Modern Laundry Room With Storage
In a strategic redesign of the laundry room, we maximized space by relocating the water heater to the adjacent garage, creating an efficient and streamlined layout. The dated tile flooring was replaced with a fresh, light-colored wood flooring option, seamlessly extending the newfound elegance throughout the entire house. Upper and lower cabinetry was installed in the laundry room and finished in the same inviting blue hue as the cabinets in the newly remodeled kitchen and bathroom, bringing a sense of continuity to the home and enhancing both functionality and aesthetics in this revitalized space.

We replaced outdated carpet and tile throughout the entire home with a resilient and contemporary light wood flooring option that is built to withstand high-traffic areas.
