Preserving The Character of A Historic Home
Nestled in the heart of Calhoun County, Georgia, amidst sprawling family farm fields and shaded by grand oak trees, The White House is a stately Greek Revival home that has stood as a testament to time for over 175 years. Known simply as "The White House" within the family, this historic treasure is the last of three identical plantation houses built by William Colley and his sons before 1850.
The family's decision to renovate the home in late 2021 was driven by a desire to honor its historical essence while enhancing its functionality for modern living. Led by contractor Chris Purvis of Leesburg, the renovation was a labor of love, combining careful preservation of original features with thoughtful updates. Our Pool Brothers team worked closely with Chris and interior designer Mark Minick of Minick Interiors in Americus, respecting the home's historic character while incorporating updates that offer contemporary comfort.
