Renovating Your Kitchen: How To Choose The Right People & The Right Process
Think about your kitchen for a second. Which stresses you out more–the thought of cooking one more meal in your cramped, outdated, and uncomfortable space? Or, the thought of renovating your kitchen, dealing with multiple contractors, having to make design decisions on your own way too quickly, and ummm…did we mention you’re the only person that seems concerned about staying on budget?
If it feels like a toss-up, you’re not alone. Embarking on a kitchen renovation can feel overwhelming. But with the right process in place, your kitchen renovation can actually be fairly stress-free.
A Collaborative Approach To Renovating Your Kitchen
Our Pool Brothers team has transformed thousands of homes across South Georgia, and we’ve learned what works best for our clients along the way. All of our past experiences helped us develop what is now known as the Pool Brother four-step process–Discover, Design, Deliver, and Delight. This unique, four-step process is a collaborative approach that brings kitchen designers, builders, and the homeowner together from the start so they can work as one team throughout the entire project.
Why Is The Process Important?
All you want is a new kitchen. So why are the steps we take to get there so important? We believe the Pool Brothers process is what sets your project up for success from the start.
Our tried-and-true, four-step approach was designed to:
Help our clients have a pleasant experience
Facilitate discussion and collaboration with the entire team from the start
Creates seamless decision-making opportunities for the client
Allows for open communication between our clients and the entire Pool Brothers design + build team throughout the entire project
How Does The Process Work?

The Design Phase of your project consists of six strategically designed meetings, so you don’t become overwhelmed with the decisions required during a remodel project.
First Design Meeting
The design team will walk through your home or remodel site. This time allows the design team to:
Gather all measurements needed to create floor plan and elevations
Take photos of the space
Discuss the style and inspiration of the new space
Second Design Meeting
Taking place at the Pool Brothers showroom, the second meeting consists of:
Review of preliminary floor plans
Review options for cabinets, countertop finishes, tile and flooring options, plumbing fixtures, and lighting
Third Design Meeting
The third design meeting takes place at the Pool Brothers showroom.
Clients make final selections on the designs discussed during the second meeting
Fourth Design Meeting
During the fourth design meeting, clients will meet with their team at the Pool Brothers showroom to:
Review current selection sheet, CAD drawings, and elevations
Finalize selections and design
Fifth Design Meeting
The fifth design meeting takes place at the project site.
Clients will meet with their designer, project manager, and trade partners to discuss the details and pricing of the project
Sixth and Final Design Meeting
Back to the Pool Brothers showroom we go for the final design meeting. During the final meeting, clients will:
Review finishes
Review floor plan and cabinet drawings
Sign the contract and put down a 3% deposit
The final phase of your project is the “Deliver” phase. This phase includes the pre-construction meeting with the design team, the delivery of project materials to the project site, and the on-site installation.
While this is the longest phase, it’s the most important as it allows the clients and team to decide and facilitate a project environment that will guarantee the outcome the clients expect.
